1377. Deane White to his brother Cornelius, in receipt of letter. On various business matters. "The Tweed Arrd. On Monday last - she just completed a Charter of three Months - I wish it had been four as she was completely supplied for it, and I know not what to do with her now - there has been no fish in the Market for some time but three loads arrd. to day from Newf'dl'd which will bring 15/- there is no encouragement in the W. Indies to Warrant Such a price." Holograph. Dated 6 June.
Postscript dated 7 June. "Sir Collin has not yet arr'd. - The English papers say He has sailed to take the Government of Nova Scotia - and has succeeded in getting £7000 pr Annum from the Whig Ministry - but this is the last act for the Tories" - They were determined not to give more than £5000 which Sir Collin spurned at."
