"I have lately passed two or three weeks in Halifax & employed myself principally in studying the politicks of this "great people" - I have been much amused with the brilliant displays of eloquence from our Burkes & Sheridans, who are rapidly increasing in number. We shall no doubt very soon cast into the shade the British Senate & become the grand rhetorical models for the world to admire & despair of equalling.
