Commissioner of Sable Island

Dear Sir
I hearwith enclose you the Power of Attorney of my son Francis P. Salmon 1st officer on board the late ship cruiser lost on Sable Island in October last in my favor and by me endorsed to you with authority to receive whatever may be coming to my son from the effects saved from said ship, which at your early convenience please remit to my address care of Mm Whiting Liverpool [illegible] Company No 32 India Wharf Boston and oblige. Respectfully yours

John Salmon


Francis Salmon was an officer on the ship Courser , which was lost on Sable Island in October of 1830.
