Sable Island, Oct 9, 1829

We have received the Supply of provisions in good order as per bill of Lading, and am sorry we have nothing to send you in return but six barrels of cranberries, & two barrels of corn'd [beff?] [beef?] it was pack'd the first of October, one is full the other not quite full it was utterly impossible to catch any [illegible], for you at this time but will endeavour to have some by the spring if possible I can get them, [illegible] horses are all [lame?]
I have drawn [these?] orders on you one from my self for W E Wallace for fifty pounds [illegible], & one from my self in favour of J [Darly?] for twelve pounds ten shillings, by which if you will have the kindness to [illegible] you will much oblige me


Letter discusses supplies received by the Establishment and those sent off the island (cranberries and corned beef), the inability to catch any horses, money paid as salaries, and requests to replace men who are leaving the Island.
