Sable Island
May 2d 1857

Sir,

I have shipped onboard the Schooner "Wave" Captain Lyle, Four Hundred and Fifty Bls Flour from the Cargo of the "Alma, P." and all the materials of the vessel, with the exception of a Medicine Chest, which the Captain gave me, and the small Lamp that was packed up with the crockery, which I therefore consider belongs to the Island, also one small box of Soap ([illegible: slipstone?]) which is not mentioned in any of the lists of property sold. Captain Lyle also claims some iron and chains which are still attached to the vessel which I presume were sold with the hull, they are of little value still I consider them Island property.

We had Ten men and Two Teams with Three Horses each employed Two days.

I remain
Sir
Your Obt Svt
P.S. Dodd
