Yarmouth N.S. March 10/54

Honorable Hugh Bell
Halifax

Dear Sir.

Your valued favor of the ____ was received this day and your telegraph despatch of the 8th. I have all the articles saved from the Brig "Elennora" presented by Miss Dix shipped on board the "Magnet", and am sorry to add that a number of the small articles are missing. I send the pieces of surf boat, to show you the frailness of their construction, and at the same time the metal will answer to repair the other boats. The surf boat is much damaged, a boiler maker with the assistance of a boatbuilder can soon put her in order. and as one end of the broken boat is not much injured Mr McKenzie (being a ship carpenter) with the aid of a smith, if they have one on Sable Island, can at their leisure add to her length and finish the other end.

I have agreed with Capt Hammond for the lumps sum of [underlined: Six pounds] for freight as p Bill Lading. I have also paid Fifteen shillings and six pence in labor. If you have any funds at command please pay the same over to Mr. Thomas Bolton on my account.

I am your m.o ob.t Serv.t
E.W.B. Moody
