Sable Island 16th Oct 1853
Dear Sir
The Daring arrived here this morning and we are now landing the supplies, and have shipped as per memorandum enclosed. We have the house of refuge finished and have saved upwards of 800 peices of deals and have picked up a ships boat 18 feet keel - no name - and a head board with Plymouth on it. We shall begin to gather cranberries tomorrow and will have as many as can be had by the time the Daring calls again. Graham will remain till then.
I have only had time to run my eye over your letter and will have time to prepare an answer to forward next opportunity, but will mention now that I feel better pleased than I did with our business affairs.
I have nothing particulat to mention at present. And am
Your Obedient Servant
