Sable Island 28th July 1853

Dear Sir

I have to inform you that the Sch.r "Guide" of London is on shore on the South side of this Island, further particulars you will get from Cap.n Daly. The Sch.r "Smith Tuttle" of Provincetown arrived here for horses on Tuesday a few hours ahead of the Daring and I despatched her last night with a Cargo as per memorandum enclosed. and I have forwarded the monies by Cap.n Daly. I could not pay that attention to Miss Dix that I wished to do, but I hope she is not dissatisfied with her visit.

I think we shall save a great part of the Guides Cargo and materials and the Daring I think should carry it off. and I shall expect her back in a few days.

I have given Cap.n Daly a memorandum of what I want by return of the Daring.

If you can get some extra hands please send same [some?].

In very great haste
Your Obt Servant
M D McKenna
