Yours of the 1st Ins.t I received per "Jarius Hart" on the 4th and that vesel is now ready to leave for Halifax with 52 horses and all the old Iron I had collected. We could not get to the "Amazon" and it is doubtful if much of value could be got even if we were to get to her. If the funds of the Establishment are scanty and any one would give £25 for three months privilege at her it would be as well to take it as to run the risk of losing all otherwise it would be better to lose what you [gave?] for her than to allow too many claims about the Island.

I have shipped 3 large and superior water casks saved from wrecks Mr Lyle is to get 1/3 of what they bring for freight.

As you cannot get a carpenter I have agreed with Gasper Graham who is in the "Jarius Hart"
