Sable Island 4th May 1853
Dear Sir
We got the horse and the supplies safely landed yesterday at the Eastern Station and today we have put on board 250 barrels of herring, and the Daring is now getting under weigh for Halifax. I shall expect her back as soon as wind and weather permit.
Please send the dishes [illegible] and as many potatos as you can afford us.
I am Dear Sir
Your Obedient Servant
Mr. D. McKenna
Hon H Bell
