This Agreement Witnesseth

that John Brady hereby engaged to go to Sable Island, and to continue there for one year from the date hereof to work at his trade as a Carpenter, or on any other service that the Governor or Superintendant of said Island may deem necessary and require of him, faithfully and to the best of his skill and ability;

And the Governor or Government on their part agree to pay him Thirty six Pounded Currency, and find him sufficient Board and lodging. Dated at Halifax this twenty third day of November 1852.
