The Petition of John Arthur Phillips and John Darlington of London
Mining Engineers + Metallurgists

Humbly Sheweth

That they are British Subjects and are desirous of obtaining a License to search for Minerals upon land situate in the County of Halifax contained within the following description:

commencing from low water mark at Sable Island

which said land does not exceed in extent three square mile.

And as in duty bound will ever pray.
