Gentlemen

In reply to your several memorials I am commanded by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor to inform you that His Excellency authorizes an exploration for natural mineral deposits on the Island of Sable to a limited extent. For this purpose two of your number will be allowed to visit the Island accompanied by not more than four workmen all of whom shall be subject to the orders of the Board of Works + the contraband direction of the Superintendent whose authority shall not be questioned in any case in which in view of the object of the
establishment
