Sable Island
June 1st 1857

Sir,

I have to acknowledge the receipt of the Articles in the list sent by the "Daring". others mentioned in my Memorandum have [crossed out: have] not been received and amongst the latter I have to name the Milk Pans and Cream crocks and which at present are much required.

I have now shipped all that remained of the cargo of the Alma P. consisting of Two Hundred and two Bls flour + two kegs Salaratus and one box of Stationary, which I opened, and dried as much of the contents as possible. I have retained a dozen quires of the paper which can be charged either to myself or the Establishment, whichever the Board may think proper.

I also enclose a list of labour performed in saving and shipping the cargo and materials with the names of the men entitled to wreck money. Daniel Brennan the person in charge of the Cattle being one of the number, who on all occasions when he had the time assisted. I would also recommend that he receive wreck money for the "Commerce" also,
