fastened to light water line not coppered nor iron kneed and partly fitted out with old rigging cost cover £2700.

The Brig Milo built at Cornwallis for Esson Boak & Co. of this city coppered and copper fastened to light water line cost over £2700.

The Brig Arab built at Sackville by same builder for same firm only copper fastened to light water line cost over £2100.

Note
The builder of the two last vessels lost so much that he has lately absconded over £1500 in debt.

The Brig.tn Annette built in 1854 at Dartmouth for J & M Tobin coppered and copper fastened to light water line was sold a few days agoe to Salter & Twining for £2000.

You will no doubt be told that there cannot be any comparison made between a Brig and Schooner but that is a mistake when the Schooner is as large as the Brig and every other description of materials and in fact exceeds them in quantity. I cannot see that the Rig has any thing to do with the cost.

I have the honor to remain
your most obt servt
James Daley
