Of proceedings of Meeting of Commissioners of Sable Island on 6 April 1841

Resolved that a perCentage on the Nett proceeds at Halifax on all property Saved of One and a half per Cent annually commencing the first of January last be allowed to Superintendant And the Sum of One pound to each of the Men for their exertions in Saving Crew passengers and property from vessels stranded on the Island said compensation to be for each and every wrecked vessel and to be allowed only on the production of a Certificate from the Superintendant stating that the Individual claiming such compensation had acted on the occasion with all diligence actively and properly in saving both lives and property otherwise the Same shall not be awarded to him.
