Darby was compelled to put hand cuffs on two of the Ringleaders and confine them and after they were Embarked on board the Maria, they broke open the porter casks and Embezzled parts thereof --- That Deponent brought all the Sails from the Island which were delivered to him by Mr. Darby and the same were placed in custody of the Commissioners aforesaid and sold That they were not changed to Deponents knowledge and Deponent missing a topmast [studding?] sail belonging to his own ship Thinks that it was sold in addition to those saved from the Lancaster-- That Deponent does not believe the charges made against Mr Darby who appeared vigilant to protect the interest of the owners of the Lancaster and cargo, and Examined the trunks of the passengers before they were put on board the Maria, a precaution Deponent thinks a guilty man would not venture to adopt -- That Deponent was Requested by Mr. Darby to let two families named Daley and Brady have
