May it please Your Excellency,
I beg respectfully to inform you that as Agent for the owners, Underwriters and all concerned in the late Brig Lancaster and cargo, stranded on Sable Island - I applied to the Commissioners of that establishment by letter on the 27th instant, for the delivery to me, of the property and materials saved from said wreck, upon the payment of such salvage and other expenses as should be legally awarded to Sable Island for saving and bringing the same to this place. And was much surprised on receiving their reply today, to find that they refuse to comply with my request on the ground of insufficiency of the documents in my possession - all of which I now enclose for Your Excellency's perusal.
The object of my present request is, that if Your Excellency cannot direct the materials of the vessel to be delivered to me under the power of Attorney I now hold - You will order the commissioners. to
To His Excellency
Sir Colin Campbell H.C.B.
Lieutenant Governor
