Halifax 12th July 1836

Sir

We have received your Letter of the 27th Ult.o enclosing the petition of James Miller relative to the hardships of his case in being blown off to the West Indies last autumn when proceeding to Sable Island.

In reply we have to communicate for the information of His Excellency, that the facts as stated in said petition are true and beg to recommend his claim to the favourable consideration of His Excellency. — We beg further to state that we do not consider ourselves authorized to pay any monies on account of
the


Miller had been blown off to the West Indies last autumn when proceeding to Sable Island.
