Sir

We have the Honor to enclose copy of a letter to the Hon.ble T.N. Jeffery Collector of His Majesty's Customs on the subject of Salvage and expences in the case of the American Ship Eagle, and also his answer, which we beg to lay before His Excellency, and we will thank you to communicate in reply such instructions as His Excellency may think proper to give under the circumstances.
