Report of the Commissioners of Sable Island on the charges made against the Superintendant of the Establishment

The Commissioners of the Isle of Sable report for the information of His Excellency the Lieut. Governor, that on receipt of His Excellency's commands through Mr Secretary James relative to a complaint against Joseph Darby resident Superintendant of Sable Island they instituted an active investigation, and although they have been unable to inform Mr Darby of the charges alleged against him, they think that sufficient testimony has been produced to remove the aspersions cast on his character and they have no doubt when informed of the attempt to injure him Mr Darby will
furnish
