Halifax 11th July 1836

Dear Sir,

From the kind consideration His Excellency the Lieut Governor has given to the several communications I have had the honor of making to him respecting the affairs of Sable Island – and being anxious that he should be possessed of every information with reference to my conduct in the unpleasant controversy which has been forced upon me with the Commissioners of Sable Island – I beg to enclose copy of a letter addressed yesterday by my Solicitor to the Commissioners – and request the favour of laying it before His Excellency, assuring him at the same time, that nothing but the peculiarly difficult situation in which I am placed would induce me to trouble him any further in this unpleasant Business.

I have the Honor to be
Dear Sir
Your very Obt Servant
Stephen Binney
