I beg here to state for the information of His Excellency that ever since there has been an establishment on the Isle of Sable the salvage on wrecked Goods has been assessed by the Magistrates and even since the wreck of the Eagle the Cargo of an American vessel stranded on the Island was settled in that way and the proceeds paid over to the Owners two months ago. It does not appear reasonable or just that the Owners of the Eagles Cargo who have already lost so much should be kept out of that which has been saved a large portion of which was saved by the exertions of the Crew and of other Americans who were sent there by the Owners for that purpose.
