Halifax 11 Dec.r 1835

Sir,

The owners of the ship Eagle + Cargo wrecked on the Isle of Sable in August last having authorized me to receive the Goods that were saved from the wreck, and the proceeds of any that have been sold, + understanding that the Collector of His Majestys Customs had taken the property into his custody I applied to him for it – he informs me that "the proceeds have been deposited under the direction of the Executive in the Provincial Treasury." I have now to beg that His Excellency may be pleased to authorize the payment thereof to be made to me deducting therefore such salvage and expenses as the persons who may be appointed to assess the same shall award and in addition to the authority I hold from the Owners to receive the property I
