execute the duties required, ever since under my
direction and with beneficial effects.

A new system, and distribution of the settle-
-ments and Servants on the Island, has been arranged
under his direction, and he is in possession of all
my ideas for the correct management of the Establishment,
conformable to the original design, for the protection
of the lives, & properly of all Nations, that should
be unfortunately shipwrecked on that Island.

I would therefore respectfully
recommend, my Son, being appointed in my stead
as Commissioner and if your Excellency should
think fit to approve of it, I will in that case, resign
my Commission.
