Memorandum of an Agreement made and entered into this twenty sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Between Edward Wallace of Halifax Esquire of the one part and Patrick Grace Thomas Grace Joseph Whitford and Samuel Sampson all of Halifax aforesaid Yeomen of the other part, as follows, that is to say; —

The said Parties of the Second part agree to embark on board the Schooner Shelburne Packet, Joseph Darby Master now about to sail for the Isle of Sable, and when there arrived to commence the manufacture and making of Shingles from Pine Timber to be then and there shewn to them by the said Joseph Darby, and shall continue at the said Island Manufacturing shingles for the said Edward Wallace until the Thirtieth day of October next, provided a sufficient quantity and quality of Timber shall be then and there found for that purpose – The said parties also agree to find the whole of the Tools Provisions and other things necessary for themselves during the passages to and from the said Island and and while they remain there – The said Parties
