Having transmitted for the favorable considerations
of the Lord Commissioners of the Treasury
Your letter of the 23rd of December last, representing
the great advantages which have resulted from
the Establishment on Sable Island for the relief
of Shipwrecked Mariners, and urging the necessity
of placing it on a more efficient footing, I have
now the honor to transmit to You for Your Information
and Guidance, the Copy of a letter from the
Secretary of the Treasury authorizing you to draw
on Mr. Kirkland for Four Hundred Pounds for
the present Year, and a similar Sum will be in
