Halifax 23:d April 1847

Sir

The Sch.r Isabella Capt Matheson having been wrecked on Sable Island last Winter and the Materials saved by the Provincial Establishment on the Island we beg to request on behalf of Capt. Matheson that saved materials may be delivered to us by the Commissioners free of any Charge for Salvage. Capt Matheson is a native of Cape Breton where he resides, is a poor man and his Vessel was uninsured.
