Halifax April 8th 1846

Sir

We have the honor to receive your letter of yesterdays date, conveying the commands of His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, to carry into effect the resolution of the Legislature with reference to the expenditure £500. in the employment of one Revenue Cruiser, during the fishing months, in addition to the Sable Island Schooner Daring.

We beg to aprise His Excellency that our best exertions shall be at once directed to this service.

The low state of the Sable Island funds (a report of which, we had the honor to enclose to you on the [illegible] July last) will
