complement of men, a reasonable allowance to be made therefor.

Payment of the above to be made as follows ~ £50 in advance, at the expiration of three months £220 if earned, and the balance at the expiration of the charter.

In Witness whereof the parties to these presents bind themselves each to the other in the penal sum of Five hundred pounds currency to be paid by the party failing in the performance of this agreement; and have herewith their hands and seals subscribed and set at Halifax Nova Scotia this Twentieth day of May one thousand eight hundred and Forty Five.
