We therefore take the liberty of asking the favor of His Excellency the Lieut Governor that he will be pleased to aid us in the furtherance of our wishes by making the above facts known to H.M. principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, whose intervention in favour of our claim, would place the matter before the Portuguese Government, so as to render its settlement much more probable.
