I have the honour to report for the information of the Government that on leaveing Halifax Friday 24th instant I proceeded with all despatch to this place and arrived on Sunday 26th I imeaitly waited on Captain William F. Townsend and placed myself and the vessel at his disposal and guidance

Haveing had a head wind all the passage I was consequently at time a long way off the shore and although keeping a most diligent lookout regret had not the good fortune to meet with any of the Boats of the Ill fated Steam Ship Hungariian

On Sunday morning I had connection with Bacaro Point Light House and learned that one of the ships Boats badly stove and bottom up with Oars lashed inside had drifted on shore neer that place but no sign of her crew liveing or dead had been discovered

The opinion here is that no Boat could
