And great care should be taken in selecting a

annoyance, a saving or a losing to the Establishment

A man Competent in every respect to Command
the Island vesel Can be obtained from either
Barrington or Lunenburg and perhaps from other
places too. If required I can give many good
reasons why the Daring should be withdrawn from
this service. -

In conclusion I beg to warn you
against attempting to carry on a Mackerel fishery
here if we are to be in any way dependant upon the
"Daring" for assistance of any kind, for if you do it will
most certainly turn out a failure, unless a complete
Change be made in the management of that vesel.

I shall transmit a copy of this letter to the
Provincial Secretarys office that His Excellency
the Lieutenant Governor, and the Members of his
Council, may become acquainted of my views
respecting the affairs of this Establishment-
