will be compelled to abide strictly with the conditions of sale and not be allowed one hour more for removing the property than specified at that time. In future all wrecks should be purchased for the Establishment unless other parties are determined we shall not have them and even then we could force them to abandon their determination by running them up so high as to make all others lose by them while we would be perfectly safe because being on the spot with men, boats + teams at our command and the Government having a vessel in connexion with the Island places us beyond hazardous competition.

My brother wrote me last last spring that you intended visiting the Island in the course of the summer and as you did not come I suppose you were engaged in matters of more importance. and hope to have the pleasure of seeing you next summer. if you come about the 20th of July and bring some friends with you we will make you as comfortable as we can and give you plenty of Strawberries. that is if they grow.

I understand the Island funds have never benefited by the cranberries sent from this. but that Mr Darby after distributing as many among the [Tory?] Chiefs as was necessary for making smooth waters appropriated the rest to his own benefit and as the Comm.rs have requested me to send off as many as I can to [underlined: assist the Island funds] it appears I am not to have Darby's privilege, they of course know that if I have the same privilege I will not send to the same persons and [are? am?] looking out in time of withholding the
privilege
