Shelburne, 30th Oct. 1848

Dear Sir
As I have not heard anything from the Commissioners of Sable Island nor of the Daring since I left Halifax I thought it would not be amiss to inform you that we are already to embark whenever the Vesel Calls for us. And as it is getting late in the Season would like to see her here as soon as circumstances will permit. Perhaps I should have written the Commissioners, but have prefered writing you. Mr. Perry and family are prepared to accompany us

I am Your Obedient Servant

M. D. McKenna
