more particular enquiries into his conduct,
And regret to say that they found his [illegible] character to be such that they could not possibly again [^place him] under W(illiam) Darby; And in justice to the newly appointed Superintendent they cannot recommend the employment of a person of unsteady habits, disrespectful in his conduct, and generally inclined to insubordination on an Establishment, where it is particularly, requisite, people of the most unblemished character, and worthy of trust in every respect should be only employed.
The petitioner was paid not only his wages but all his expences in Halifax [illegible] to the hour of his discharge, and his Family and furniture brought from the Island free of any expence. And having been discharged in consequence of his own conduct they cannot entertain the idea, that he has the slightest claim for any further remuneration much less future employment on the Island.
