conveyed to you His Excellency's permission to occupy one of the houses on the Island till the spring should it be inconvenient for you to remove your family this fall.
His Excellency, having given to you the most ample opportunities for explanation and self defence, has not discharged the duty imosed upon him without much regret. He has no desire to under value your past labours and would rejoice if in consideration of them, he could, consistently with the responsibility under which he acts, retain you in the public service.
