In 1830 I was called upon by the Honourable Micheal Wallace, then the Treasurer of the Province, and a commissioner, to come here and superintend the establishment. I obliged this call, and abandoned all my private business and devoted myself exclusively to it, from that period up to the present I have made a great many improvements have raised a large stock of cattle, have saved the lives of 6 or 700 human beings, have saved an immense quantity of property none of which has ever been lost since it came, and whilst it was in my possession, and I feel it very hard now at my time of life to be deprived of the means of obtaining a living for myself and family. Praying Your Excellency to reconsider my case, and not to suffer the malice of a few individuals to influence Your Excellency to do an act that will [harm?] me, and injure the establishment.
