With regard to his supplying a vessel with bread he had no right to do so, the vessel was not in Distress for Bread and I can not credit his Statement, And as for getting Supplys at the West end there never was any thing of the kind done,
In the case of the Levant he was told that he should let his Horses rest that week, and if he were able himself he had better commence moving his Hay as he could not work at the Levant alone to any Advantage, as soon as I left that part of the Island, he paid no attention to the Directions I gave him but went with the Captain and an Incompetent Force, and spent the whole week unprofitably employed, mainly breaking to pieces the Ships Windlgo[[sp]] and pilling out the [[?]], and he received no abuse from me but whatever I said to him was in presence of Mr. Cunard,
The half Indians that he speaks of are either of them better Men than himself,
And my selling Liquor to my men since July 1846 is utterly false
And on the 21st of March last I read the Island articles over to him (without) in order
