Halifax 13th May 1848

Sir,

From recent indisposition and continued declining health, I am induced to request that you will be pleased to bring to the notice of His Excellency the Lieut.t Governor, my desire to resign the appointment as one of the Commissioners for Sable Island, the duties of which I feel unable longer to attend.
