Instructions for the guidance of Mr. Townsend

Mr Townsend will proceed to Sable Island in the Schooner Echo as a Passenger, and forthwith inspect the position, condition and value of the wrecked Schooner "Fulton"

He will also examine the Public Estasblishment, and fixed and moveable Property on the Island, reporting an accurate inventory

He will ascertain if there is any other wrecks or wrecked property, on the Island belonging to the Government or to individuals
