March 1848 Continued,

Wednefday 22
This day a Strong Breeze on Shore and heavy Sea, we did not attempt to go to the Wreck, employed splitting Pickets.
Thursday 23
This day the wind North, with heavy Sea on Shore, we was employed overhauling the Provifsions in the Store, with Sundry work; Splitting Pickets for Fencing and Cutting Wood
Friday 24
A strong Breeze from East with Dark weather, would make a heavy Sea about the Fulton, and we did not go up, the people were employed as yesterday.
Saturday 25
A heavy Gale and Snow Storm, the people employed as per Journal, this Gale drove the Fulton in over the Bank to where Captn Townsend found her, and as I every Day was in hopes of Learning from the Commissioners, and it was so convenient now to Ship the Cargo out of the Fulton on board any vefsel that might be sent for the Cargo, and considering that the working Horses was getting so boor that they could Scarcely travel to the West End, and I wishing to retain some little strength in them to meet a Case? of Wreck where lives and property must be attended to af pofsible, I consequently did not go to the Fulton anymore.
