Halifax 21st Decr 1844

Sir,

The Schooner "Sisters" which has been employed for some time past in the service of Sable Island, and in the protection of the Fisheries, has been found by experience, to be deficient in the necessary sailing qualities, particularly for the latter branch of the Provincial Public Service.

As a considerable repair will soon be rendered necessary; we are of opinion that it would eventually be a saving to the Province if this vessel were disposed of & replaced by one better adapted to the purposes, for which she is required. and we intend to carry the same into effect, as soon as practicable.

We beg to ask the favor of you to lay this communication before His Excellency the Lieu.t Governor.

We have the honor to be
Sir
Your most Obt Serv.ts
