yesterday Capt Joseph Darby arrived here with the supplys for the Island which I am happy to find all in good order. I has signed a receipt of the same to Capt Darby you have expressed a desire to know the state of the Island in every particular the cattle is all in gord order, Twenty Five in Number, we have a fine crop of Hay, our Gardens are but Indifferent no Cranberrys. I am much obliged to your Honor for the liberal supplys you have sent us in hopes they will last us to time allotted. I have a great desire to go to the main in the spring of the year & I hope you will allow me permission as well as to former superintendants that had the same indulgence.
