and as for the three men that stayd behind they behaved as well as men could behave = and did as much as the other two could have done, for they were very obedient and did every they were told to do = so that I am as well satisfyed with them = I have sent the three men of with Capt Darby, and I let them have a barrell of bread for their passage = and also three new cotton shirts which I wish you to charge to the Brig Adament = and there ought to be always to some blankets and other slops on the Island for the use of the castaway people = the main stay sail that is in the bill of leaden. I was oblidgd to keep behind to cover the coffee with to keep it from the wheather = and the sail was valued at 3 pounds, by three men - which the brig hard times ought to pay for = and we have planted twenty bushells seed potatoes - this spring = and they are all up and look very well = and that our cattle in number is 20 but very [sad?], and if there should be a vessel to come of, I should like Capt Darby to come with it as pilot, for people that comes here wish to run off before the business is half settled - but himself
