Isle of Sable Augst 24 1809

I have recd yr lettr the 19th inclosd with an invoice of a bill of lading of articles which i recd. According to the invoice I have shipped the articles belonging to the Brig Prince Edward according to yr orders on board the Schooner Margaret Paul Bosun Mastr. The reason I directed my lettr to Mr Hartshorn was through the advice of Mr Morris, He informed me you [done?] no business for the Island of Sable. I have inclosed an invoice of the articles shipped. I have made use of one of the wrecks top [gallt?] sails to make sails [illegible] lake boat the sail being one third wore. I hope you will purchase the main topmast stay sail belonging to the wreck to make a sail for the Gundaloe. I hope you will send us assistance as soon as possible so [illegible] for the stock. The black boy Mr. Morris left is very little use to us & has been since he came here. I am informed some of the people belonging to the wreck informed you I shipped them for the Island but I did not. They supposed it would clear them from all man of war. Fire wood is chiefly expended with great difficulty we can be able to procure wood for one family for we have but one [illegible] sound oxen on the Island but I hope it will not be the case long for I am endeavouring to
