We John Meyers and Joseph Darby at
present of Country harbour in Nova Scotia
Yeomen, Do hereby voluntarily engage to
go to the Isle of Sable as hired servants in
the employ of government under the orders and
direction of James Morris Esq. the Superintendent
of said Island, and we do each of us find
and oblige ourselves to obey all the lawful
commands of the said Morris by night as
well as by day, in Boats or on the Land, for
the benefit and service of government, and
for the protection and Lives and of property
that may be cast ashore on the said island
and we do further promise to engage to aid &
support to the outmost of our power, against all
disorder or mutinous conduct of any persons that
Joseph Darby left his service and paid off, 30 May 1809.
