Country Harbour June 27, 1806
My friend i have taken the liberty to leave the island for my health a few days, with Captain Darby to Country Harbour and took with me one of the lads in order to cut some pine logs and timber for ribs and boats and and catch fish or buy them for the island-same time buy some land for my son as he has an inclination to settle here should i be able to find a good mill place and timber that will [illegible] his intentions-captain Darby has agreed to return with me soon as he returns from Halifax on my expense, except your Honour [illegible] order the [illegible] otherwise i have given Capt Darby an inventory for some articles for my family. please order the bill paid and placed to my account. and also order him seven pounds three shillings on my account being part of the [illegible] wages Capt Darby is surely a [illegible] man as he made six attempts to gain the island and i am sorry he has lost his best anchor, i would cheerfully assist in purchasing another hope he will be considered
from your honor [illegible]
