pursuant to Law. And whereas the said Thomas Wallace, above bound, has requested from the Commissioners, above named, an order to the said James Morris, for deliver to him or his order as the owner thereof, the whole of the property saved from said wreck, he the said Thomas Wallace being ready and willing to pay & satisfy the beforenamed Commissioners, for [their?] trouble labour and care of the said James Morris and those employed under him in making salvage of said property and care & custody thereof when the amount of such salvage shall be ascertain'd.

Now the condition of the above obligation is such. That of the above bound Thomas Wallace, shall well and duly pay, or cause to be paid unto the aforesaid Charles Mary Wentworth Michael Wallace Charles Morris and William Cochran, whatever sum or sums of money, William Smith, William Lyon, and John Lawson, Esquires of Halifax aforesaid, or any two of them shall certify under their hands to be justly due and owing to the said Commissioners above named for the care risk and trouble of the before named James Morris and the hired servants employed under him on the Establishment, in making salvage of the Cargo and Materials of the said Brigantine Harriott and the custody and preserving the same on the said Island, then this obligation to be null and void, otherwise to be in full force and virtue.
