these are to certify all whom it may concern that I the subscriber have ben [been] under the command and directions of Mr. James Morris from the first day of October 1801 to the present date, during which time I have been treated with kindness at all times in the interim I am in hopes that my past conduct on Said Island will be approved of by Mr. Morris and the gentlemen Commissioner, whose order I was bound to obey …
